How will this course benefit me?
This course is for parents, carers and grandparents of children in primary schools who want to educate and support their children’s learning and their children. This course will increase and improve your knowledge and understanding of how and what children learn in ICT lessons at school. You will also have a better understanding of programming concepts and software life-cycle. Adults will learn the basic skills and knowledge that could inspire and enhance career prospects.
What are the entry requirements?
You will need a basic level of English (Entry Level2).
You must be able to commit to the full course with the intention of attending every session.
Children must be 9 years or over
What will I learn?
- Introduction to programming
- Make your own fashion item such as a name tag or watch with micro:bit
- Create your own game with micro:bit
- Build your own musical instrument with micro:bit

Progress to the next level City & Guilds English, Maths and Skills for Life courses
Keeping up with the Children English, Maths, Science, Money Matters and Employability Workshops
Courses are subject to a minimum number of enrolments (12 families) and could be cancelled if recruitment is low. Where possible an alternative class will be offered at a different time/location.
The school will provide ICT facilities – computer or laptop with WiFi for learners
