Introduction to mindfulness

How will this course benefit me?

Mindfulness teaches you to pay more attention to the present moment – to your own thoughts and feelings, and to the world around you. This can have a beneficial effect on your health and wellbeing.


What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal entry qualifications for this course; however, you will need an interest in the subject and a willingness to participate in class discussions and activities.


What will I learn?

This course will teach you some basic mindfulness techniques in a safe and supportive environment. You will explore a variety of ways to develop mindfulness in your thoughts, feelings and body.


How will the course be delivered?

Demonstration by tutor, class and group activities.  Learning will be of a practical nature and could include presentations, discussions, practical activities, group and individual work and guided meditations.


How will my learning be assessed?

By participation in class activities and discussions.


What are the extra costs?

There are no extra costs, but you may wish to purchase a USB stick to save your work.
