English and ESOL

If your first language is not English, our popular and friendly ESOL courses will help you to develop your English skills in speaking and listening, reading and writing for your life in the UK and also help you into work or gain a qualification as well as supporting you to improve your digital skills.

We offer a range of daytime and evening courses at varying levels from beginners at Entry 1 through to advanced at Level 2. Evening courses will be ‘blended’ with the majority of sessions being online. These will also be live sessions with your teacher and fellow students. Please see course information Sheets for more information.

Whether you wish to gain confidence in speaking and listening, improve your grammar and reading and writing or to develop your skills for work or study or for your own personal satisfaction, we can help you to find the most suitable course. Our academic year is split into two 15 week Semesters with the opportunity to take a Skills for Life qualification awarded by ESB at the end of Term B, if you are making sufficient progress.

If English is your first language and you would like to improve your literacy skills we have courses from Entry 3 to Level 1. On these you will gain a qualification with City and Guilds .

Our popular and successful AQA GCSE courses are available in the day or evening. Our evening course will be delivered using a blended model where most sessions will take place, live and online with your class and tutor. Please see Course Information Sheets for more information.

All our teachers are highly-qualified and have years of experience and our classes will help you quickly improve your English skills and confidence. Each course also incorporates digital skills development.

Assessment for entry onto our courses will be by appointment only, between June and September and, as our ESOL and English courses are very popular, we advise you to contact us by phone on 02085502398; email enquiries@ redbridge-iae.ac.uk. or visit our Reception to make an appointment for an assessment.

Please don’t be worried about an assessment interview. It’s not a test! We want you to succeed and be happy in your class and the assessment is to find out what you already know and which would be the best class for you in terms of level; time and pace.

Please note that due to high demand for these courses, we cannot guarantee a place for every learner.
