You may be entitled to a concessionary or a reduced fee, be eligible for financial support or to pay by instalments. This depends on personal circumstances. Speak to our Learner Experience team if you need more information or need help assessing our eligibility for funding.

Am I eligible?

The course fees we publish are for people who have been resident in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area (EEA) for the past year.

You will be asked to show us proof. For example:

  • A passport that clearly shows evidence you have been resident in the UK or EEA for the past year. (Not all passports show this.)
  • Home Office confirmation.
  • Bank statements, utility bills, letters from schools, or any other official documents showing you have lived in the UK/EEA for the past year.

Can I get a reduction?

We need to check what course you are enrolling on and what your age and income status is first.

You may be entitled to a free or reduced cost place if you are working but on a low wage – as set out in the GLA or ESFA funding rules or are in receipt of:

  • Job seekers allowance (JSA)
  • Employment support allowance (ESA)
  • Universal Credit
  • Working tax credit with income of less than £18,000 pa
  • Income support
  • Housing Benefit
  • Pension guarantee credit
  • Carers allowance
  • Council tax reduction

In some cases, you must be enrolling on a course to help gain employment either now or in the future.

Other terms and conditions also apply.

Can I get financial help?

Help with course fees, childcare payments (to a registered nursery), travel costs and internet costs is available for eligible learners.

Can I pay by instalments?

You can spread the cost of your course if it is more than 12 weeks long.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are not normally granted unless we cancel the course. Please check our Refunds Policy for more information.

Am I eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan?

Some of our courses are eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan. You can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan from the Student Loan Company to pay for your course if you are aged 19 or over. Your loan does not have to be repaid until you finish your course and are earning over £27,295* a year.

*see www.gov.uk

The above only applies to UK/EU residents. Other learners will have additional costs.
