The adult education service of London Borough of Redbridge, ran interactive family workshops in; jewellery making, clay modelling and creative card making at The Spark Lab, said to be the new “cultural quarter” in the heart of Ilford Town Centre.
There were lots of fun activities including engaging maths games, promoting the institute’s Multiply offer – the Government-funded programme to help adults improve their numeracy skills. These short courses can help give adults confidence from helping children with their homework to managing their money.
Mrs Datt and daughter Prachi, of Christchurch Primary School commented, “I liked how it looked from the outside and was interested to go and try the workshops. I loved making a necklace in the jewellery workshop and doing the maths games, it was so much fun”
“The Redbridge Institute is delighted to be working with the borough’s regeneration team in delivering our creative and visual arts activities to residents and visitors of Redbridge” explained Will Pickford, Principal of Redbridge Institute of Adult Education.
There was also a variety of stalls displaying the amazing work from the learners, including pottery tombola, stained glass and creative art
