Congratulations to the Winners of the Inclusion Challenge 2026, the ESOL Entry 3 (Fast Track) class!

Celebrate Inclusion Challenge 2026
Earlier this year, we invited our learners to take part in an innovative challenge: to design creative learning activities for adult education that champion Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI). The initiative aimed to inspire deeper understanding, foster collaboration, and ensure meaningful participation for every learner.
Participants from across all courses and programmes were encouraged to submit ideas that not only promote EDI in the classroom but also equip learners for life in modern Britain, highlighting respect for protected characteristics and celebrating the value of diverse perspectives.
Submissions were assessed against four key criteria:
- Creativity – the originality and ability to engage learners
- Impact – the effectiveness in raising awareness and celebrating inclusion
- Practicality – the ease with which the activity could be implemented in a learning environment
- Inclusivity – the extent to which it reflected diverse perspectives
Congratulations to the ESOL Entry 3 (Fast Track) class for being the winning submission!
The winning entry stood out for its innovative approach to embedding EDI into everyday learning.
They designed an interactive choice based learning game that follows the journey of their character Raj, who is a new student in an ESOL class, learning to communicate with his new peers.
The game encouraged participants to explore real-life scenarios through multiple perspectives and a relatable character, prompting thoughtful discussion and reflection.
By combining engaging visuals, collaborative tasks, and practical examples, the activity not only raised awareness of diverse experiences but also created a safe and inclusive space for open dialogue.
They won a delicious free meal from Waah Catering for their hard work and creativity!
