Our learner awards are always a highlight of the year. It’s when we get to celebrate the achievements of our graduates, share their inspiring stories and hear about their dreams for the future.
One of our stars of the year was Judith Guarte, who has just completed a Level 2 Early Years course. She spoke movingly about her learning journey and the barriers she has had to overcome. Judith’s story has also been recognised through the Mayor Of London Adult Learning Awards, where she is this years winner in the Learning for Progression category.
At this year’s ceremony, we were joined by Cllr Beverly Brewer, the Mayor of Redbridge, Cllr Sahdia Warraich and Cllr Namreen Chaudhry. London Borough of Redbridge was represented by Julian Ellerby, who is also Vice-chair of our Governing Body.
The ceremony was hosted by Lesley Seary OBE, Chair of the Governing Body and compared by Maria Sotiriou, Assistant Principal Curriculum.
A huge thank you to our sponsors OCN who handed out the Volunteers of the Year awards and UEL who celebrated our ten Learners of the Month.
