Redbridge Institute are proud to announce that we are entering into a new partnership with Vision Culture and Leisure. This year, Vision will provide 500 Redbridge residents the opportunity to “get into” physical fitness – and find out what opportunities are available across Redbridge.

Those joining can come along to try something new, re-connect with an old interest or something they’ve never thought to try before: supporting people to move more and enhance their positive wellbeing. Attendees do not need to be experienced in fitness or exercise; no matter the age or fitness level, anyone can join and reap the positive benefits of joining the sessions.

Vision have been linking with services throughout the Borough, scoping out the interest of Redbridge residents and developing a full programme of physical activity opportunities. Physical activity can mean different things to different people, and Vision are keen to create a programme of activities that cater to different interests, abilities and fitness levels. There are lots of ways to move more; whether it’s dance, yoga, Pilates, fitness, or gardening, those joining can choose an activity to suit them. Once residents have a taste of doing things like Zumba, swimming or cycling, our hope is that they’ll feel more confident to come along to a class running on a regular basis within the Borough. Following their attendance in a taster session, all participants will be offered the opportunity to discuss other regular activity opportunities with the Borough. This added element of support aims to further participants’ confidence and engagement in physical activity opportunities.

The partnership is funded from the Mayor of London’s Adult Education Budget and beneficiaries of the program will develop confidence to become active citizens and participate in physical activities in their local community. Plus, it’s FREE to sign up and take part, get fit and have fun. For further information please visit www.visionrcl.org.uk/activebodyhealthymind
