Redbridge residents can now access the support they need to build a career in one of the rapidly growing sectors of the local economy.

The newly launched Passport to Careers programme is designed to provide a fast-track route for adults to reskill and move into a new industry.

Each passport is tailored to individual jobseekers, containing three badges covering Essential, Employability and Sector-Specific skills.

Passports to Careers are currently available in the following key local growth sectors:

  • Early Years and Childcare
  • Green Economy
  • Health and Care
  • Hospitality

Once a Passport is completed, people will be able to apply directly for jobs in their chosen new career sector.

“Everyone has a unique set of knowledge and experiences which they take with them to new jobs. By identifying these transferable skills and focusing on developing new sector-specific skills, the Passport allows people to quickly build a career in a growing sector”. William Pickford, Principal of Redbridge Institute.
