Monika Kazmierkiewicz won the IAB (International Association of Bookkeepers) Student of the Year 2022 award at this year’s ceremony held at the House of Commons. Monika has completed Level 2 Bookkeeping and Sage courses at Redbridge Institute, and is now completing her Level 3 Bookkeeping certificate. Her inspirational story led her tutor Pratibha Patel to nominate her for this prestigious award.
Monika, pictured here with President of IAB Fabian Hamilton MP and Janet Jack CEO, said;
“After years of sincere work, together with additional knowledge and newfound confidence I gained at the institute the owners have given me shares in the business.
In addition, in recent weeks I have been offered another job as a bookkeeper for one of the local businesses. I took this opportunity and started a bookkeeping business on a part time basis, allowing me to earn additional income.
I truly believe that studying bookkeeping (especially at Level 3) at the Redbridge Institute has given me the necessary knowledge and business confidence to progress greatly in my career.
As a young adult, coming from a low-income family, I had limited opportunities to study and had no choice but to start my working life early. Courses offered at the Institute gave me a second chance at education and impacted my life in so many ways.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for the amazing work you have done as my tutor, and to Redbridge Institute for running the courses.”
