Cllr Jo Blackman, Cabinet Member for the Environment and Sustainability opened the doors to a brand new Green Skills Hub at Redbridge Institute allowing local residents the opportunity to upskill and retrain in jobs that contribute to preserving or restoring the environment, and providing job opportunities for the growing green economy.

London Borough of Redbridge was successful in securing funding as part of a Local London consortia, led by LSEC (London South East Colleges Group and Newham College of Further Education, which facilitated investment of the brand new facility at the Gants Hill campus.

William Pickford, Principal, Redbridge Institute of Adult Education said “We are very excited that we have been able to build these facilities in the Borough as we become a greener, cleaner and safer place to live and work. In partnership with Work Redbridge, our residents can now benefit from extra support and discover an amazing range of employment opportunities available to them in key sectors.

In collaboration with OCN , our unique Passport to Careers programme supports Redbridge residents to build a career in one of the rapidly growing sectors of the local community.
